I am lucky to be married to the best guy in all the land. Together we live in San Francisco and are delighted daily by our sweet son.
CAN WE GET A QUICK BIO?
I've been working with weddings since 2002, doing all sorts of things! I've been the stationer, florist, bartender, bride, bridesmaid, and of course the photographer!
I started studying photography when I was in high school after my mom taught me how to use her Minolta X700 (slr) camera on a trip to the San Francisco Zoo. She was wildly impressed with my penguin shots and encouraged me to continue taking photos of everything. Yearbook and Newspaper clubs followed during high school and college and I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Studio Art.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Wedding coverage starts at $2,500 and includes 8 hours of wedding day photography, a second shooter, and high-resolution disc of your photos. Contact me for additional packages and rates. Please inquire about special pricing for City Hall or intimate weekday weddings. JetKat is proud to support marriage equality for everyone! In an effort to provide you & your fiance with excellent customer service and attention to detail, JetKat Photo accepts a limited number of weddings each year. I request a $500 retainer with a signed contract in order to reserve your wedding date.
FILM OR DIGITAL?
Both! I use Canon 5d Mark ii and a Canon 5d and a Holga film camera.
WHY PHOTOGRAPH WEDDINGS?
Because I get to be a part of people falling in love every weekend!
WHAT IS YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC STYLE?
I believe great photography is as timeless and as unique as you are. It's part art and part photojournalism and I would describe my style as casual, thoughtful, warm, natural, and elegant. I thrive on capturing real laughs and real love.
DO YOU SHOOT THE FAMILY GROUP PHOTOS THAT WE NEED?
Yes, of course!! I just don’t feature those on my site because you’ve seen them before. Email me and I'll be happy to send over a few samples. We take the necessary time to capture the formal family portraits that you desire, but please keep in mind that they take time. If your checklist of photos is long, that can add up to a lot of time taken away from the festivities. We will work together in advance to create your list of requested photos so that you get the shots you want while still having plenty of time to eat, drink, and be married!
DO YOU SHOOT DESTINATION WEDDINGS?
Yes, of course.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS?
My family, morning sunshine (a rareity in SF), dahlias, vintage postage stamps, riding bicycles, nice stationery, pencils, islands, dinner bells, benches, ice cream, good design, movies, and true love.
WHAT DOES JETKAT MEAN?
JetKat Design is named, in part, after a ship called the JetKat Express II. It represents beauty, hope, heart, and strength as it travels the Cuban seas.
