ABOUT
JetKat Design began as an experiment in the winter of 2003 by San Francisco-based artist, Kate Zimmerman. Having just graduated with a degree in Studio Art from the University of Georgia, and unsure of where to go and what to do, she volunteered/asked to create the invitations to her best friend’s wedding. The response was fantastic and it quickly became clear that there were others with a desire for exclusive invitations. She spent the spring building a portfolio and meeting with local folks in the wedding industry. By the fall of 2004, Kate quit her bartending job and hasn’t looked back.
JetKat Design creates everything from exquisite and unique invitations & stationery products, to business identities, to a good bit of non-profit work just to mix it up. JetKat Design is proud to be involved with most printed things from Tin Cup Prophette, a lovely Athens band that we think you’ll like too.

Additional assistance and support is always provided by Kate’s younger brother, Alan, who is just about the coolest person around. Not only is he funny & charming, he is very talented and that’s why he is the other designer for JetKat Design. When he’s not helping Kate with designs or answering technical web questions, he keeps busy as the president of Double Pi & as the owner of Steelbadge.
Kate is lucky to be married to the best guy in all the land. Together they live in San Francisco and are delighted daily by their sweet son.
THE NAME
JetKat Design is named, in part, after a ship called the JetKat Express II. It represents beauty, hope, heart, and strength as it travels the Cuban seas.
